A VFD panel is an electrical enclosure that houses the panels that control motor speed. The panel adjusts the frequency and voltage supplied to a motor, delivering precise speed control, smooth starts and energy savings on variable-torque loads like pumps and fans.
There are several VFD panel components:

- Line reactors and filters reduce harmonic distortion, protecting upstream transformers and nearby equipment from electrical noise.

If a drive fails, then onboard protection trips the affected circuit and signals the PLC (programmable logic controller), isolating the problem instead of stopping the whole line.
