- VFD panels control motor speed continuously, ideal when a pump or fan must ramp to match demand rather than run full-on.
- MCCs standardize across-the-line and reduced-voltage starters in bucket sections, favored where many motors start and stop at fixed speed.
- Each of their footprints differs: A VFD panel is sized to its drives and cooling, while an MCC follows a fixed vertical-section format.
